Related to my chicken post below, I have a good friend who is very interesting in sustainable living. She has recently gotten involved as a CSA (community supported agriculture) member, which means she pays a certain amount to get a share of the harvest from a local, organic (usually) farm. Every week or every other week, she'll get a basket of fresh veggies, fruit, herbs, and eggs. Some farms even offer meat, nuts, and fresh flowers.
It is really fascinating and makes me wish I liked vegetables. (As my friends and family know, I do not eat vegetables.) I would love to be a part of it. I guess I'll just continue with my own little garden (and maybe my two chickens), but for anyone who loves fresh produce, I'd recommend giving this a try. It helps local family farms, as well as the environment, and fresh organic produce just tastes better (so I've been told)!
I mean, does this stuff look heavenly or what??

Ok, back to my garden.
