As I may have mentioned on this blog (I can't remember and am too lazy to go back and check), I want to start cooking more in 2008. I have a new wok, but have yet to use it. I have, however, been using my slow cooker (better known as a Crock Pot). It is pretty easy and always smells wonderful when it has been cooking all day.
One of the best things I have made so far is Beef and Lentils. I struggle with veggies, but I can manage to get down some lentils when there are other things to distract me. And lentils provide lots of protein and fiber.

So, for anyone who is interested:
- Stick 3 whole cloves into a whole medium onion and set aside.
- In a saucepan, combine 5 cups water, 1 lb lentils, 1 t. salt, 1 bay leaf, and the medium onion. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Combine 1 lb browned ground beef, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup molasses, 2 T. brown sugar, 1 t. dry mustard, 1/4 t. Worcestershire sauce, and 1 finely chopped onion in slow cooker. Stir in simmered ingredients from saucepan.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hrs.
